The country house located in one of the suburbs of Moscow, with its picturesque views, in a high density settlement. The specifics of the small site and the requirements of the customer generated the unusual configuration of the building.
As an architects, we had the task of fitting many different functions on a small land spot so that they did not conflict with each other. For us is usual to work with a large-scale architecture, so we decided to design a private house as multifunctional quarter. And that was the main solution of the challenge. Main functional units of the house form a perimeter building around a private yard. It turns out that the structure consists of several small different-height houses, forming a kind of micro-block on the scale of a country house. To separate volumes, we also used contrast materials, including glass, brick, stone and plaster. In a result we got an urban character structure with country soul, located in a natural environment on a close territory.
At the same time, life in the "private block" runs in the same way as in the city center, but on its own micro-scale. Each of the houses has its own function: bedrooms, children's, living room and hall. All parts combined in a way so that their inhabitants do not disturb each other. The bedrooms and children's are separated by stair, and a spacious transparent glass hall separates them from the living room. The yard unites all parts of the "block" and designed to be a comfortable private space hidden from neighbors. Extensive shed above it protects against overheating, rain and snow. A private inner yard - is a nice space for family lunches, friendly parties, barbecues.
